ELECTRIC BEAR FENCES FOR HOMES AND CABINS

PAGE 1 -- INTRODUCTION AND CHARGERS

Introduction

We don’t recommend that you set up an electric bear fence guarding an empty home or cabin that nobody checks up on every week or so. Because if something goes wrong—the charger fails or a bear knocks the fence akimbo with its paw—then the bear fence will stop working and will fail to deter the next visitor. But one can set up an effective electric fence to protect homes and cabins against bears—both when people are residing in the cabin and when someone is able to come by periodically to check on the fence in seasons when the bears are not hibernating.

You can use these pages to gather all the materials you need for such a bear fence, creating a list of these materials in our shopping cart. You can then purchase these items directly, or else print out the shopping cart page or save it in Microsoft Word in order to create a useful list and total price for discussion with others or for planning.

Electric Fence Chargers

If your home or cabin’s power supply will remain active, get an AC-powered charger. If no power will be available, get a solar-powered charger.
